When you’re in the most popular boy band in the world, you can pretty much have any girl you want (yeah, we see you, Timberlake). So, when One Direction’s Liam Payne broke up with his dancer girlfriend of two years, he decided to aim high.

It seems that Liam has finally made his crush a reality and is dating fellow X Factor UK alum, Leona Lewis! In a January interview, Liam spilled to Popstar! Magazine that he had his eye on XF season 3 winner Leona — while he was still with (now ex) Danielle Peazer!

The two have more in common than just their X Factor roots — turns out Leona just ended her own relationship of two years, and he was a dancer, too! Even though the “Bleeding Love” singer previously remarked that she wouldn’t be interested in Liam because of his age, it seems that things have changed.

“He’s sweet, but they’re, like, two,” she had said of Liam. What a difference a half a year makes, we suppose. The 27-year-old singer has apparently dismissed her ish with the eight-year age difference and has reportedly been seen around town with the 1D heartthrob.

Seeing as Leona could be mistaken for Liam’s ex, we have no doubt he can recycle some of his lines about what makes his new lady beautiful...
