Let’s address the elephant in the room real fast: Season 2 of The X Factor premieres September 12, 2012, and it’s going to be — how do you say this — a no-host bar? We already know that the first couple of episodes have been taped and consist mainly of auditions and judges’ critiques, so it’s no biggie that there’s no master of ceremonies quite yet. But seriously, guys, this is cutting it close to the wire.
Although it’s been reported that there are six finalists vying for the coveted microphone, Khloe Kardashian has been all but handed the darn thing. Today on Ellen!, Simon Cowell addressed the hostlessness (yeah, we just made that word up) of The X Factor Season 2 — and revealed who he’d like to see directing traffic.
Simon tells Ellen, "I'm quite a fan of not putting hosts on this show, cuz I think it's gonna give it a different dynamic. [Okay, Simon, whatever that means.] So, we've gotta find people who've got a great chemistry... but Khloe's definitely up there in the running."
With Demi Lovato and Britney Spears in the judges’ seats, it’s clear that younger viewers are the target audience this season. Would a Kardashian-infused popularity set Simon’s mind at ease about luring viewers who might be watching *ahem* other talent competitions? Weigh in below.
