Simon Cowell is a man of his word, even if it ends up costing him $20,000.

After The X Factor Season 2 finale, it was revealed to reporters that Simon and L.A. Reid made a wager at the beginning of the season that if one of their contestants won the show, they would pay the winner $20,000. And after L.A.’s Tate Stevens won the competition, it’s Simon who is signing away what is probably pocket change to him.

Are you surprised by the wager? Do you think the judges should bet on the competition?
