It's getting shady up in here, y'all! Auditions for the second season of The X Factor are in full swing, and Simon Cowell isn't wasting time in dishing our some of his signature attitude — even dragging the good name of his rival show, The Voice, through the mud in the process.
TMZ reports that the media mogul and show judge was heard at the Austin auditions advising one contestant who made a less-than-impressive mark on the judges that they might have a future elsewhere — on a lesser show, like The Voice. Allegedly, L.A. Reid told the auditioner, "If you decide to try out again, please do it on another show." Simon's catty response? "Yes," he said. "The good news is, I hear The Voice auditions are happening next week."
Ouch! At least Britney Spears didn't chime in — the last thing we need is a reboot of the millennial feud between Britney and Christina Aguilera, which we'd hoped had finally been put to rest.
With that kind of sass being thrown around, it's shaping up to be an interesting year in the world of talent competitions, although we can't help but notice that given how The Voice keeps killing in the ratings, they may have the last laugh...
