Shawn Armenta practiced dancing from 6-10 PM every night with a choreographer and sang with a vocal coach seven days a week in order to prepare for his X Factor audition. Well, that's what he says, anyway.

Anyone with ears realized he was probably practicing all these things only in his mind when he came out and sang his — how do we say this? — really special, original song, "Candy Girl."

"This is a song about the girls you might meet in your local bar... good looking girls... if you get them, they're your sweet candy girl," the 50-year-old aspiring singer/dancer explained before his performance.

And what a performance it was. After a minute, Simon and the gang stopped Shawn. Simon wasn't exactly full of compliments about the lyrics of the song and after Shawn shot back that Simon was being an ageist (really, Shawn? Haven't you seen Simon's girlfriends?), Simon said, "It's got nothing to do with your age... well, maybe it does."

In response to Demi Lovato's critiques, Shawn retorted, "That's why you use Auto-Tune and I don't."

Britney's take? "I wanna know who let you on stage."
