UPDATE: Reed did not make it through to the live shows.

Reed Deming is a very well-managed young man. A 13-year-old singing sensation, Reed not only has perfect pitch, but a pitch-perfect team. His website boasts “Even his vocal coach who has worked with many famous pop and rock artists was stunned when she discovered that Reed could hit any note she named.”

It turns out, Reed and The X Factor judge Demi Lovato have a lot in common: Last year he won Best Overall Performance at a Master Class competition Septien Entertainment Group — the school which boasts partial responsibility for helping to launch the Disney pop star’s career.

Reed, who captivated the judges with his version of the Bruno Mars hit, “Grenade,” describes his music style as alternative pop or alternative rock. The pint-sized Bieber-haired tween plays guitar and saxophone, dances, and acts.

His profile describes him as having “music in his DNA” and we sure hope there’s some modesty in those genes as well, because there are already enough divas on this season’s stage.
