X Factor UK finalist Lucy Spraggan is just 21, but she’s already made a name for herself in England — first, as the runner up at the annual Live and Unsigned competition, then as a finalist on The X Factor UK Season 9. During her audition, Lucy performed her original song “Last Night,” winning a spot in bootcamp. Her second performance, a cover of Beyonce’s “Halo,” was so popular it reached number 2 on iTunes.

On November 3, 2012, Lucy made the difficult decision to leave The X Factor due to an illness that forced her to miss two consecutive performances. In an official statement (obtained by The Daily Mail), Lucy said: “I am gutted not to be able to continue on this journey but I’m not well enough to perform.”

This isn’t the last X Factor UK audiences will see of Lucy, however; she’s reportedly been asked back for the live finale, according to Metro UK.
