It’s raining ladies in The X Factor gossip world this week. First, a source reported LeAnn Rimes is “close” to signing onto the show, and then word came Britney Spears was offered $10 million to judge Season 2. Yesterday, Simon Cowell admitted the show’s producers are, in fact, leaning towards hiring two women to replace ousted judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.

American Idol Season 2 runner-up Ruben Studdard, who has been through the televised-talent-show wringer himself, told Wendy Williams he thinks the show should hire legendary crooner Mariah Carey. Why does Ruben think Mariah would make a good judge?  “She wouldn’t pull any punches,” he explained.

While that might be true, Simon’s previously squashed rumors of Mariah joining the show, arguing, “She just had kids…” Moms can work, too, Mr. Cowell!
