In a conference call with X Factor judge Simon Cowell today, he was asked if he thought they would bring back a 17th contestant for the final group. Simon famously brought back eliminated contestant Melanie Amaro last year — and she eventually went on to win the competition.

So, will he do it again? Nope. Simon said there’s “nobody I feel as passionate about this year as I did about Melanie. I was stupid to let her go the first time.”
