The X Factor Season 2 has been an emotionally exhausting ride of watching our favorites succeed, falter, triumph, and falter again. In the Season 2 finale, audiences anointed three very different final acts: a 13-year-old stereotypical balladeer (with a shockingly powerful voice), a 37-year-old country singer, and a pop group modeled to be the female equivalent to One Direction.

Nice try, Simon Cowell; despite your best efforts to get them into fighting form, girl group Fifth Harmony was the first cut, landing the not-so-shabby third spot.

In second place, in what was a tough battle from the first note to the final announcement, is fan (second) favorite (drumroll please) Carly Rose Sonenclar! The young Broadway and movie actress and singer has made waves all season and was neck-and-neck with Tate Stevens for first place week after week, but the final decision has been made, and it's not her time.

Well, you know what that means, America, the winner of The X Factor USA Season 2 is none other than the country boy himself, Tate Stevens! The man has a water tower named after him, a puppy named after him, four items on a menu at a random diner in his hometown named after him, and now, he's CHAMPION! Cue heartfelt country hit. This man is going to make us all proud. That's all folks! Merry X Factor to all, and to all a great fight.

Third place: Fifth Harmony
Second place: Carly Rose Sonenclar
WINNER: Tate Stevens
