It's time for The X Factor's semi-finals, and the contestants have been whittled down to four lucky souls. We've ranked the remaining acts based on their performance during this week's thrilling and chilling (read: chill bumping) episode, and the competition is fierce like Demi's fluffy eyebrows. Spoiler alert: Reed Deming wins.

Name: Emblem3
Ranking: 1
Pros: Emblem3 is feeling the rain on their skin, and when we say rain we mean ocean water. You guys, they sang "Baby I Love Your Way" by Peter Frampton because it reminds them of "simpler times." Apparently, Emblem3 is in a really complicated period right now — but it's doing great things for them. In fact, their performance of The Beatles' "Hey Jude" had us collapsed on the floor in a fit of happy-yet-sad tears.
Cons: For some reason Emblem3 decided to perform part of "Baby I Love Your Way" while lying down. Whatever, we assume they were lulled to sleep thanks to that unfortunate jazzy saxaphone.

Name: Tate Stevens
Ranking: 2
Pros: Despite the fact that Tate decided to wear a washed denim shirt to the semi-finals, he rocked his rendition of "Bonfire" by Craig Morgan while a stack of burning tires ignited behind him. Which naturally caused our inner environmentalist to be super concerned. Tate's explanation for choosing this unusual song is simple: dude loves bonfires. It's just like, kumbaya everyone.
Cons: Tate inspired L.A. Reid to wear a cowboy hat for most of this episode, which we take as a sign of the coming apocalypse. Also, his rendition of "Fall" by Clay Walker was a slight let down after his upbeat first song, but pshhhh whatevs. After all, Tate dedicated the song to his wife, aka us.

Name: Carly Rose Sonenclar
Ranking: 3
Pros: Tragically, Carly wasn't able to get through this episode without wearing a fedora. But the good news? Her vocals on "Imagine" by John Lennon were nothing short of spectacular, and she played the piano. Yoko Ono's jaunty top hat is so proud right now. However, does Carly have what it takes to win the competition? See cons.
Cons: The judges were slightly underwhelmed by Carly's performance of "Your Song" by Elton John, and Simon straight-up hated on "Imagine." The problem? Carly just can't stop, won't stop singing ballads, and she needs to break out of her shell if she's going to win! Maybe she could try wearing a beanie? Or, like, a beret?

Name: Fifth Harmony
Ranking: 4
Pros: Um, Fifth Harmony performed "Impossible" by Shontelle in Spanish, but there are more important things to discuss. Like their rendition of "Anything Could Happen" by Ellie Goulding, in which they sat at a table filled with glitter, balloons, and cake, while men dressed like butterflies frolicked about serving them tea. Also, they were wearing tutus for no explicable reason, and we half expected one of them to go Black Swan crazy and murder everyone. All we know is that Britney Spears described this event as "magic," and we have to agree.
Cons: We have nothing bad to say about these flawless creatures. Except that they're more than likely going to be sent packing next week. Either way, we just lived through something together, guys. If the world ends on December 22, at least we'll have this.
