Good news, Lovatics! Demi Lovato, who was on the fence about returning to X Factor as a judge, is officially on board for X Factor 2013, according to Fox, who released an official statement from the “Heart Attack” singer on March 28.

"I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor on The X Factor," Lovato’s statement reads. "Last season was an unbelievable experience and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel. I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better!"

Before now, we weren’t sure Demi would return, due to scheduling conflicts. Her fourth album is slated to drop in May 2013 and word on the street has it she’s planning a world tour to promote it. With so much on her plate, it certainly wouldn’t be outside of the realm of possibility that she would simply be too busy this summer for X Factor.

Simon Cowell is pretty stoked about Demi’s return, though he couldn’t resist getting his digs in. “She’s a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. Even though she can be really, really annoying – I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I’m especially pleased she’s back, even during her world tour!”

Now if we could just find out who is replacing L.A. Reid and Britney Spears. Rumors have included names like Ne-Yo and Lady Gaga. That would be one star-studded judges panel, for sure!
