Uh... nevermind. JK, everybody. JK. Only a few hours after US Weekly reported that Simon Cowell is “very interested” in securing actress Jennifer Love Hewitt as a judge on The X Factor 2013, multiple show sources are telling E! News that the report is “not true.”

The late ‘90s pop singer-turned-The Client List bombshell was rumored to be replacing outgoing judge Britney Spears, but it sounds like the “BareNaked” singer just didn’t make Fox’s cut. A spokesperson for the network says that US Weekly’s story is “just speculation,” and that no other decisions have been made about the panel so far.

Going by the official rep’s quote, it certainly sounds like Jennifer might still potentially be in the running. But given what the sources are saying, we’re thinking it’s probably a long shot.

Us’s original story also said that country star Reba McEntire and former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland are also on the list of possible judges. We’ve heard before that Kelly, a current judge on The X Factor UK, might be in the running, but the bit about Reba was entirely new.

Sadly, it also appears to be false. The country star’s rep tells E! that Reba “has not been contacted by the show.” Reps for Jennifer and Kelly, however, stayed silent when asked about the potential talks.

Are you relieved that JLH won’t be joining The X Factor crew, or were you secretly hoping that the show would be able to convince her to come on board? Sure, she hasn’t put out any music in a while. But have you seen the woman? We’ve heard her body is a wonderland..

Frankly, we’re not surprised that Simon Cowell was reportedly “very interested” in getting her — and her ample assets — on the show.
