In the words of Ellie Goulding Fifth Harmony, "Anything Could Happen." Including The X Factor's second runners up being handing a record deal! Yep, Fifth Harmony's mentor, Simon Cowell, and his fellow X Factor Judge, L.A. Reid, have signed the fab five to Epic Records via Syco Music, and they are squeeing up a storm.
“Being introduced to the Syco and Epic family means the world to us,” Camila Cabello tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We get to learn from and work with the best in the business, people who have built the careers of artists we look up to. The fact that we’re being given the opportunity to make music that we want feels like a dream we never want to wake up from, and I literally just have to pinch myself.”
Fifth Harmony's record is already slated to be a smash-hit, and will be overseen by One Direction's producer/songwriter Julian Bunetta, with collaborations from Cher Lloyd's songwriter Autumn Rowe, as well as Pink's songwriter Lil’ Eddie. Whew! That’s a lot of X Factor connections.
Simon is enthusiastic (to say the least) about Fifth Harmony, saying that "they’re great fun to be around and most importantly, they are all incredibly talented,.” Group member Normani Hamilton couldn’t be more ecstatic about the deal. She gushes, “The X Factor and Simon have given me and my Fifth Harmony sisters this wonderful opportunity to pursue our dreams."
Sigh, why do we have a sudden urge to attach a ridiculously large and triumphant bow atop our heads. Celebratory Mad Hatter tea party, anyone?
