Tate Stevens might be basking in the glow of the No. 1 spot week after week (except for when Carly Rose Sonenclar nudges him out), but that doesn’t mean he’s unscathed by the weekly double eliminations. Speaking exclusively with Wetpaint Entertainment on December 10, 2012, Tate reveals the grueling emotional rollercoaster caused by having to say goodbye to booted contestants, most notably CeCe Frey.

Talk to me about last week’s double eliminations and who got sent home.
It sucks every week to watch somebody go home because we’ve grown so close. We’re living in the same house, you learn them, you learn their history, you learn about their life. It’s tough, it’s tough every week when someone goes home. Both of the people, Cece and Diamond were so talented but you know it’s down to who America thinks is the best and not that they’re not as good as I am or whoever else, they just didn’t get the votes.

Have you spoken to Cece?
I haven’t spoken to her since Thursday, but when I talked to her I basically told her to keep her head up and push on and good things will for her.
