Don’t tell his (brunette) girlfriend; Simon Cowell seemingly has a thing for blondes. In the past two weeks, more than a handful of names have been attached to The X Factor’s two empty judging seats: Britney Spears, Stacy Kiebler, LeAnn Rimes, and now… Fergie!
Not only do these four celebs have their golden hair color in common, but they all possess the “star power” Simon lists as a must-have trait for judges on The X Factor. Life & Style reports Fergie is in talks with the show as a possible replacement for Paula Abdul or Nicole Scherzinger. “It’s in the early stages,” a source spills, adding there’s been more than one conversation about the possibility.
Let’s recap what we know thus far about who we might see on Season 2. Britney Spears rejected the initial $10 million offer to judge, countering with $20 million, which show execs apparently didn’t balk at because negotiations are still ongoing with the pop star. Stacy Kiebler, known for both her wrestling and George Clooney arm-candy skills, is being considered as a possible host for Season 2. Last but not least, country singer LeAnn Rimes is also in talks to judge the show — and just yesterday got a ringing endorsement from her husband (natch), Eddie Cibrian.
One face we most definitely won’t be seeing is Glee’s Darren Criss, who reportedly declined an offer to replace The X Factor host Steve Jones due to his busy filming schedule.
