The new year isn't starting off too well for the Ying Yang Twins's De'Angelo "D-Roc" Holmes.
According to TMZ, he was arrested in Georgia and charged with "family violence" and two counts of simple battery after allegedly punching his wife in the head.
D-Roc is accused of hitting wife Porsche Holmes hard enough that she got a bump over her left eye. He was released on bond once he agreed to some restrictions, including staying away from his own wife. Here’s his mug shot.
The Ying Yang Twins, based in Atlanta, are known for songs like "Get Low," "Salt Shaker," "Wait (The Whisper Song)," and "Halftime,” a New Orleans Saints anthem. They also recently created a "Miley Cyrus" song when they learned she was a fan of their own work.
But apparently it's still a struggle for D-Roc, 34, to pay the bills, since he petitioned a judge late last year to lower his child support payments to his ex-wife. He successfully got the payments lowered from $2,500 to $550, since he's making a lot less now than he did when the child support amount was first set … and he’s said to still owe $45,000, so he needed a payment plan.
He's apparently the father of five, and also made headlines in 2012 when he was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Duluth, Georgia, with two of his children in the car — ages 3 and 2 months.
So now might be a good time to write a song about taking care of business and just keeping it together in 2014.
