The 50-year-old reality star opened up about her daughter’s “disappointing” choice in her BravoTV.com blog the Wednesday morning after the episode aired.
“This reckless choice was so shocking and disappointing to me,” she wrote. “I raised her as a single mom most of her life, so immediately I started to take it personally, blaming myself and doubting my parenting skills.”
Yolanda said her flight home from Spain was quite emotional, especially given the fact that her father died in a car accident when she was 7 years old. We’re sure Yolanda was beating herself up a lot over this tragic turn of events with Bella, but it sounds like she handled the ordeal like a pro. Yolanda even had a few stipulations to tack on to the court’s punishment, which included a one-year suspension on Bella’s license and six months of probation.
“I decided to take her phone away, make her pay for her own lawyer bills from her savings, and we sold her car,” Yolanda continued. “Life taught her that sometimes good people make bad choices but that it doesn’t mean they are bad people...it means they are human.”
Yolanda goes on to say that “none of us are perfect,” and we couldn’t agree with her more. We’re glad her family has risen above this terrible instance.
