Fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are well aware Yolanda Foster has had (and continues to have) a very public battle with Lyme disease. She’s been vocal about her treatment and has proven to be quite the trouper — but now Yo is getting a national platform to talk about her situation, by appearing on The Doctors today (March 24).
“Symptoms started about four months before I married my husband, David Foster,” Yolanda says in a promo for her episode. She goes on to list ut some of the symptoms of the disease: having a hard time multitasking, reading information, not remembering how to write the alphabet, suffering joint pain, and always being tired. “The struggle has been full of really scary moments,” she said.
“One night I woke up and said to my husband, ‘I feel like I almost passed to the other side.’ Just talking about it still gives me goosebumps,” Yolanda shares.
When asked why she is so public about her illness, Yolanda says it is all about bringing awareness to the disease, noting that there is no “magic pill” for a cure. Then our blonde beauty is asked about her support system at home (aka David).
“Just seeing his picture makes me emotional because he’s been extraordinary,” Yolanda begins. “He’s the guy that ran my port that I had in my jugular vein to get my antibiotics four times a day. He’s the guy that stood by me every night and 24 hours a day. I’m very blessed.”
Recently Yolanda and David put their Malibu mansion on the market so they could get a house with less upkeep. And keeping with the theme of change, Yolanda recently revealed a dramatic new ‘do which she says is a “symbolic start of a brand new era.” We love your outlook, Yolanda. Stay strong, girl!
