Mariah Carey might be dubbing herself the "Elusive Chanteuse," but she made herself very easy to find this morning (May 16), performing songs both new and old in New York City's Rockefeller Center for Today's Toyota Summer Concert Series.
It proved to be the perfect opportunity for the octave-jumping songstress to debut her track "You Don't Know What to Do" from her long-in-the-works fourteenth studio album, the concisely-titled Me. I Am Mariah… the Elusive Chanteuse.
Seductively perched on a piano and dressed in a sparkly (and appropriately low-cut) dress, Mariah trilled her way though the song's leisurely intro, before rapper Wale jumped in to amp up the tempo with his verses.
MIAMTEC has been in production since 2011, having neared release in 2012 under the title The Art of Letting Go.
Now, with its new title, the album is finally ready to hit shelves on May 23 — its release preceded by the singles "#Beautiful (feat. Miguel)" "You're Mine (Eternal)," and "Thirsty."
The 18-track record also features guest appearances by Nas, Fabolous, Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly, and Mariah's own twins. (Her actual twins, not her boobs.)
