You’ll Never Guess What Ben Higgins Is Looking For in a Wife

Many of us were crushing hard on Ben Higgins on Bachelorette 11 — he was so sweet with Kaitlyn Bristowe, and that smile! But we’re starting to realize we didn’t really know the Bachelor 2016 star as well as we thought we did.

For instance, did you know the 26 year old is actually really religious? In a recent interview, Ben revealed one of the most important qualities he’s looking for in his future wife has less to do with her personality and more to do with her house of worship!

“I would really like to find a woman with a similar faith,” the Colorado resident tells Parade. “I think that’ll be important as we raise a family, as we move forward in life.”

Totally understandable, but not since Sean Lowe have we seen a lead put their faith front and center. It’s just where Ben went next in the interview that got us a little confused.

“Also, somebody that offers grace because I think I’m going to need a lot of grace in my life,” the software salesman stated, adding, “I think we can all say that sometimes we’re not the easiest to deal with, especially if you’re going to live life with somebody.”

Huh. Not something we’ve heard before from the men of Bachelor Nation, but we’re definitely intrigued! At least Ben’s not giving us cookie cutter answers like some former stars of the franchise.

As for the other traits he’s hoping the special lady will possess, we’ll have to wait and see — just don’t expect her to be exactly like the edgier Kaitlyn.

“I respected Kaitlyn a lot and, and I enjoyed my time with her, but when it came to this season, I was looking for somebody who had their own individual characteristics,” Ben dished.

Another area where he’ll differ from his time on Bachelorette is by limiting the amount of kissing he’s doing with the 28 contestants.

NEWS: SPOILER: We May Know the Next Bachelorette Already

“I wanted to make sure that we spent our time getting to know each other one-on-one and not necessarily kissing the whole time,” Ben reasoned.

Whoever is lucky enough to characterize all the Bachelor is looking for should probably prepare to at least consider relocating to his native Denver.

Ben explained, “I love Denver, it’s an incredible place to live. I have roots there and I have a good friend group there. I would really love if a woman would move to Denver.

“But, I’m not going to force it … If she feels strongly about a different city, or if a woman in my life feels like we need to move away from Denver, then, I’m open to it.”

The Bachelor Season 20 premieres Monday, January 4 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
