Young Jeezy Arrested on Weapons Charge After Wiz Khalifa Concert Shooting (VIDEO)
Life isn't so breezy for one Young Jeezy. The 36-year-old rapper — aka Jay Jenkins — has been arrested on a weapons charge after a deadly shooting at a Wiz Khalifa concert, TMZ reports.
The saga started on the night of August 22, at Wiz's concert at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. In the midst of Wiz's performance, a man was shot multiple times backstage and later died at a hospital. The victim has been identified as Eric Johnson, 38, of Orinda, California.
Jeezy was on tour with Wiz — and when police searched Jeezy's tour bus on August 24 at the concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California, they found an assault rifle they believe to be his. Other people in Jeezy's entourage were arrested, too.
E! Online reports that the other individuals arrested were Kena Marshall, Peter Maynard, David Kuniansky-Altman, William Gilmore, and Alexa Beason.
Jeezy is reportedly being held on $1 million bail.
The Atlanta native rose to fame as a member of the group Boyz n da Hood in 2004 and has since released five albums of his own, racking up four Grammy nominations.
Here's hoping he can make a comeback and steer clear of legal issues in the future!
