Ariana Grande: I Originally Wanted to Duet with This Singer on My Album!

Ariana Grande planned to duet with a fellow young pop artist on her new album, Yours Truly, but unfortunately, the music industry stars did not align.

Who rejected who was unavailable to appear on Ariana’s track? Flirty text message sender Justin Bieber? Nope. New boyfriend Nathan Sykes of The Wanted? Obviously, they’ve already released a single together. No, the person Ariana had in mind was none other than member of the Mickey Mouse Hall of Fame, Demi Lovato.

Ariana spilled the beans in a recent round of exclusive details about Yours Truly released via Twitter. “#YoursTruly fact.. I originally wanted #YoullNeverKnow to be a girl power duet w @ddlovato inspired by ‘the boy is mine’ #nextalbummaybe :),” she wrote October 18.

Why wasn’t Demi available we wondered? Too busy with her X Factor judging duties? Focused on finalizing details for her Neon Lights tour? Concerned so much pop princess power would explode iPods all over the country?

Whatever the reason, we know Ariana’s got her sights set on another young female artist to work with. Earlier this month, the 20-year-old singer tweeted Miley Cyrus about future potential collaborations. Throw in Selena Gomez and we’d have ourselves a regular TV star girl group. Think of the promotion deals!
