YouTube Music Awards: THIS Artist Beats Miley Cyrus, Bieber for Top Prize
A certain artist has come in like a wrecking ball and destroyed Miley Cyrus's chances of winning a prize at the YouTube Awards.
The first-ever YouTube Music Awards were given out on November 3 in NYC during a ceremony hosted by Jason Schwartzman, according to The Wrap.
There were a number of upsets when the awards were announced. The biggest surprise was that Video of the Year went to Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy," which beat out more familiar names like Justin Bieber for "Beauty and a Beat," Lady Gaga for "Applause," and Miley Cyrus for "We Can't Stop."
Also coming away victorious was Eminem, who was named Artist of the Year, beating out Katy Perry, One Direction, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift.
And the YouTube Phenomenon award went to T-Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble," beating out Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for "Thrift Shop."
