Zak Waddell’s Distressed Hedge Fund: What’s THAT About?
He's a "drilling fluid engineer” who likes to dress up as a penguin — when dressed in anything at all — and he loves to play guitar and sing. But what’s this about Zak Waddell formerly working at a distressed hedge fund in New York? How distressed could it be with his smiling penguin mug around?!
Seriously though, Business Insider is wondering which fund he worked at, since Zak mentioned it during his intro on the premiere. It’s a good question. It’s possible Zak could end up our Season 18 Bachelor, so we need to do a proper vetting. We accept his abs and his smile and we can turn a blind eye to the odd emo song and animal suit, but we can’t take any secrets. So how did this karaoke-loving guy from Dallas — who majored in Psychology and English at Texas A&M and got a Masters of Humanities at the University of Dallas — end up a NYC hedge funder? Just curious.
Zak, 31, also reportedly worked as a Congressional liaison in the U.S. Senate and has experience as a mud engineer. Atlas Shrugged is one of his favorite books, but if he could have lunch with anyone it would be Cookie Monster. If he could be anyone for a day, it would be Russell Brand, and for a superpower he’d like to open pistachios telepathically. He's an interesting dude, our Zak. The more we learn about him, the more curious we get. That’s a good thing, right?
